Anne Walker is a lecturer of economics in the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University. Anne received her PhD in economics from West Virginia University in May 2013, and her MBA from the University of Kansas in 2003. Anne’s research has examined the effects of resource dependence on long-run economic growth across counties in the Appalachian region, and how this relationship is influenced by educational attainment. Her research has been published in the Review of Regional Studies, Contemporary Economic Policy, and the Journal of Regional Science, and discussed in the Washington Post.
Before coming to Boise State, Anne was a visiting assistant professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver for four years. She has also worked extensively in private industry as a project manager and business consultant. She currently teaches courses in both macroeconomics and microeconomics and will teach global economics in Boise State’s Professional MBA program.
