Learn about Roger Quarles and the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation

Roger Quarles came to Idaho in 1992 after launching a successful restaurant chain in California. He then taught high school in Wood River Valley for five years while earning a doctorate from the University of Idaho. Quarles was principal at Kuna High School from 2000-2005 before serving as the assistant superintendent for a year and then superintendent in the Caldwell School District until 2011. He was co-director of Idaho Leads at the Boise State Center for School Improvement for two years and served as Idaho’s chief deputy state superintendent in 2013.

The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation is a Boise-based private family foundation committed to the vision of limitless learning for all Idahoans. In the last 16 years, the Albertson Family Foundation has invested more than $600 million in Idaho.
