The Department of Accountancy houses two student organizations. Within each Accountancy student organization you’ll find active members as well as engaging activities. Beta Alpha Psi and the CFE club both provide opportunities to network with local professionals. Beta Alpha Psi is a national scholastic organization that promotes professional excellence in the field of accounting. Beta Alpha Psi engages in a series of professional meetings and community service projects throughout each semester. In the fall, Beta Alpha Psi members typically visit accounting firms in the Boise area. In addition, “Meet the Firms Night” allows members the chance to speak with firm representatives on a one-on-one basis. In the spring, Beta Alpha Psi focuses on specific topic areas such as networking or industry and governmental accounting. The ACFE (also known as the CFE club) is dedicated to providing the best resources to help students and professionals to learn to deal with fraud.
