Accountancy & Finance double major

COBE originally created the Accountancy/Finance dual major to allow students interested in both fields to graduate with the fewest classes. Because of changes made to both programs you can now earn a double major by taking the same classes required for the dual major.

Current Accountancy/Finance (blended) majors:

If you are using the 2013-14 catalog or earlier you can still graduate with a BBA in Accountancy/Finance.  We encourage you to double major though, because you can now get two majors instead of one by completing the exact same classes!

You may need to request academic adjustments to ensure your academic requirements are still recognized as satisfied. The Accountancy department’s admin assistant, Alex Williamson, is available to help you through this process. You can contact her at alexwilliamson@boisestate.edu or by phone (208)426-3461. Include your student ID number in any correspondence with her.

Some of the Academic Adjustments you may run into are:

ACCT 405

We highly recommend that you take ACCT 405 but dual major students in the 2011-12 catalog or earlier are not required to take ACCT 405. If you switch to a double major using the same catalog that you are currently in, the department can waive ACCT 405.   If you change catalogs to 2012-13 or later, you must take all of the courses listed in that catalog—including ACCT 405.

ACCT 300/304

Finance major requirements include ACCT 300 but double majors should use ACCT 304 to satisfy this requirement for their Finance major.
