Business Student Organizations
Alpha Kappa Psi
Alpha Kappa Psi is the National Professional Business Fraternity, open to all
business majors. Their purpose is to further the individual welfare of their
members; foster scientific research in the fields of commerce, accounts, and
finance; to educate the public to appreciate and demand higher ideals; and to
promote and advance in institutions of collegiate rank and courses leading to
degrees in business administration.
The Boise chapter is a very dynamic and positive one. It was honored with the Circle
of Excellence Award from nationals for the 1996-1997 academic year. This award
recognized the Theta Omicron chapter as having increased membership by 40% or
more in the past year. Since membership has grown, there has been a need to
rearrange the leadership positions to allow every member a chance at being more
active and involved in the fraternity. With the beginning of the Fall 1998
semester, the changes in officer positions seem to have worked and members are very
pleased with the exuberance that has returned to this organization. This ambitious atmosphere will carry on as we move through the 1998-1999 school
year and beyond.
A few of the school, community and professional activities we participate in
each year are:
Fall and Spring Organization Fairs
Homecoming Activities
Into the Streets
Festival of Trees
Adopt-a-Family
Boise River Festival
Guest speakers
Tours of businesses in the community
Membership in the Theta Omicron chapter is open to all business majors who have
met the minimum G.P.A. requirement of 2.5. Interested students are invited to
pledge for membership into AKPsi, both fall and spring semesters. Visit with Omicron Chapter Alpha
Kappa Psi for more information. Beta
