Ten Commandments for being Student Centered

1. Put Students First!  Students are the reason we are here.
2. Students are not an interruption of our work; they are the purpose of our work!
3. Know our students.  Take every opportunity to notice them, listen to them, and remember them.
4. Keep it Simple.  A friendly smile, a bit of empathy, and a willingness to help go a long way.
5. Cultivate a culture of Service.  Passion for students must be part of the culture, not just part of the mission statement.
6. Play Fair.  Do what you say you will do and when you say you will do it.
7. Students are not ‘just numbers’, they are human beings with feelings and emotions like our own.
8. Recover quickly.  Mistakes happen.  The true measure of a student-centered organization is how quickly you can turn a negative into a positive.
9. Students are deserving of the most courteous and attentive treatment we can give them!
10. Students are the life-blood of this College!
