GATEWAY COURSES

 

COBE’s ten (10) “Gateway Courses” will consist of the following with an earned, minimum grade of C- or better:

Gateway courses for 2011-2012 Catalog or EARLIER

  • ACCT 205 – Introduction to Financial Accounting
  • ACCT 206 – Introduction to Managerial Accounting
  • BUSCOM 201 – Business Communication
  • BUSSTAT 207 – Statistical Techniques for Decision Making
  • ECON 201 – Principles of Macroeconomics
  • ECON 202 – Principles of Microeconomics
  • ITM 104 – Operating Systems and Word Processing Topics
  • ITM105 – Spreadsheet Topics
  • MATH 143 – College Algebra
  • MATH 160 – Survey of Calculus

Gateway courses for 2012-2013 Catalog or LATER

  • GENBUS 101 – Business for the New Generation
  • ACCT 205 – Introduction to Financial Accounting
  • ACCT 206 – Introduction to Managerial Accounting
  • BUSCOM 201 – Business Communication
  • BUSSTAT 207 – Statistical Techniques for Decision Making
  • ECON 201 – Principles of Macroeconomics
  • ECON 202 – Principles of Microeconomics
  • ITM 104 – Operating Systems and Word Processing Topics
  • ITM105 – Spreadsheet Topics
  • MATH 160 – Survey of Calculus

NOTE: Please remember a student’s cumulative GPA must be a minimum 2.5 or greater


OPEN COURSES

COBE’s “Open Courses” will be available for any student to take without being admitted to COBE status. However, each student must have the corresponding prerequisites in order to enroll in each class. The Open Courses are as follows:

  • ACCT 302 – Survey of Federal Income Taxation
  • ECON 333 – Natural Resource Economics
  • ECON 322 – Urban Economics
  • HRM 305 – Human Resource Management
  • ITM 310 – Business Intelligence
  • MGMT 301 – Leadership Skills
  • MKTG 301 – Principles of Marketing
  • ACCT 300 – Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • ACCT 303 – Mastering the Accounting Cycle
