OB Skills

Welcome! This site started May, 1995, and was evaluated in January, 1996 by an advisory group comprised of eminent skills teachers. From this emerged a role for this site, as a resource for organizational behavior skills teachers. The database goes from 1974 (volume 1) to 2000 (volume 23, issue 2). Since the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (OBTS) has served as a center for skills teachers, this site maintains some links to OBTS web pages.

The maroon column to the left lists what's currently available at this site:

• Articles on skills teaching. These are largely from past issues of the OBTS journal (currently the Journal of Management Education), with the permission of the OBTS. In addition I've included some of my own work here.
• JME Search. This is an extension of work began by Jim Clawson, and consists of a searchable database of articles published by the OBTS from 1974-present. Regularly updated, over 1000 articles are listed.
• Skills Book. This is the "Managerial Skills" book, published by Sage in 1991. Copyright has reverted, and I've translated most of the book to the web pages seen here.
• OBTR Special Issue. This is the entire 1983 special issue of OBTR on managerial competencies. There is much seminal thinking in this issue.
• Resources. This page is devoted to examples of skills courses and materials for same. In addition to resources for teaching managerial skills,
• Skills Links. Links to other skill-related web pages.
• OBTS Links. Here are some OBTS-related pages, including conference information and NAM activities.
