Fast Track Admission Policy
An applicant to either Master of Science in Accountancy degree program (MSA) can earn the right to waive the GMAT, application essay, and letters of recommendation that are normally required for admission. To qualify, an applicant must:
- Meet all the requirements for admission under the normal admissions process, other than the GMAT, application essay, and letters of recommendation requirements, and
- Have completed at least twenty-one credits in 300, 400, or 500 level accounting courses taken for undergraduate credit at Boise State University, and
- Have an overall GPA of at least 3.5 (4.0 scale) in all 300, 400, and 500 level accounting courses taken for undergraduate credit at Boise State University, and
- Have an overall GPA of at least 3.3 (4.0 scale), and
- Identify at least one Boise State University faculty member in the Department of Accountancy that can attest to his or her ability to succeed in the graduate program.
Applicants applying during their final semester of undergraduate coursework (for admission to the MSA program in the following semester) may choose to apply under the MSA Fast Track Application process if they reasonably expect to qualify upon completion of their undergraduate coursework. Such applicants, at the discretion of the Graduate Advisor, may be admitted to the MSA program on a provisional basis (and allowed to begin graduate coursework) pending verification that they have met all the requirements for Fast Track Admission.
If such an applicant fails to meet all the requirements for Fast Track Admission at the completion of their undergraduate coursework, he or she must apply under the normal admission process (which includes the GMAT, application essay, and letters of recommendation requirements) and be formally admitted under the normal admission process prior to the end of their first semester of graduate study.
