Recommendations for Students
You are being offered a unique Boise State experience in the MBA Honors Track. In order to be accepted into the program you have already agreed to:
- Commitment: Participants must commit to attending all meetings during the year. With the small size of the group, full participation will measurably enhance the quality of the seminar experience
- Confidentiality: Each participant must agree to hold all group discussions in strict confidence
- Openness: Each participant should have a “lifelong student” mindset and be willing to be an active participant in a group setting.
In order for your time to be the most productive, it is important you plan out your objectives and be committed to them. Here are a few suggestions to accomplish this task:
- Determine what you want to achieve through the mentor relationship
- It is important to not over commit your time – be realistic in the time you actually dedicate to this relationship and respect the amount of time your mentor can spend as well
- Be open to suggestions, but most importantly, ask questions
- Ask for feedback; challenge yourself
- If you disagree with your mentor, say so, but do so in a positive manner
- Set up the next meeting’s purpose, activities and timeframe at the end of every meeting
