Each year, thousands of refugees are invited by the U.S. government to seek safety and freedom. Forced to flee conflict or persecution, many have survived for years against incredible odds. They step off the plane with next to nothing but their dignity, hope and determination. Here in Boise, we help them rebuild their lives. I work closely with the youth coordinator and executive director throughout the year on building and sustaining the camp. Idaho Head Start Association
Internship 2 Basically, IHSA is looking to completely re-do their website, make it easier to navigate and be useful to the public in terms of getting information on the Head Start locations and what exactly Head Start does. The software is Dreamweaver CS4. It is not necessary for the student to know how to use Dreamweaver, as long as they are willing, and capable, to learn by teaching themselves. From what I’ve experienced so far, an understanding of “coding” would benefit the individual immensely.
I am currently working on this project, but have found myself with too many time commitments, and I won’t be able to finish in a timely manner. I’ve spoken to Stan Burton, IHSA Director, about replacing myself and he’s agreed it may be a better experience for someone looking to go into the field of web design. They will have the opportunity to say they’ve developed an entire site.
If students are interested they can contact me with questions, or they may contact Stan. His phone number is 345-1182 and his email is sburton@idahoheadstartassoc.net

JOB TITLE: PROGRAM ASSISTANT – IDAHO NATIONAL GUARD YOUTH CHALLENGE PROGRAM
UNPAID INTERN
It is a program that takes 16-18 year old high school dropouts, and puts them through a five month quasi-military residential program in order to earn their GED, and life skills, and then a twelve month mentoring program with a member of their community.
