Michelle Gooding is the Director of Campus Recruitment at Northwestern Mutual and will be joining the Human Resources Association as the October guest speaker. Michelle is a Boise State Alumni and has been the Director of Campus Recruitment for Northwestern Mutual since August 2013.
Management Department special lecturer Anthony Martinez appears on the TV commercial for the Albertson Foundation on the Don’t Fail Idaho education campaign this fall. This program works to enhance the education level within Idaho.
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) awarded the Boise State University Human Resource Association the Merit award for its excellence and achievement during the 2012-2013 year. Stephanie Ortiz, president of the organization, lead the club with guest speakers in the human resource field, volunteer activities, and a third place finish in the regional human resource case study competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an essential part of the global plan of a company. U.S. state and federal mandates address CSR and the increased focus on CSR in China. Mark shared live situations that are plaguing companies, highlighted issues that should be considered when doing due diligence, discussed the rules and regulations affecting CSR, and address best corporate practices.
2013 Case Competition.
8 Undergraduate teams put their HR knowledge to the test and competed in the 2013 Pacific West Regional Case Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada, by collaborating with their teammates to present the solution to a panel of HR-certified volunteer judges through a 15-minute oral presentation and 2-page executive written summary.
The Boise State team of 4 competed with the help of coach Decateur Reed. They met every Saturday for about four hours since mid-February. Only one person on the team had previously participated. Boise State took3rd place!
