Gary Raney, Ada County Sheriff
Sheriff Gary Raney joined the Ada County Sheriff’s Office in Boise, Idaho, in 1983 and advanced through the ranks until he was elected and then sworn in as the Ada County Sheriff in 2005. Sheriff Raney is now responsible for the largest law enforcement agency in the State of Idaho with about 650 employees and a $57 million budget. His duties include policing unincorporated Ada County and the cities of Eagle, Kuna and Star. He is also responsible for managing the jail custody and community supervision of over 1,400 offenders, managing Ada County Misdemeanor Probation, running the county-wide emergency dispatch center and fulfilling a variety of other statutory and cooperative duties.
During his time in office, Sheriff Raney has been recognized locally and nationally for bringing good business practices, accountability and innovative thought to the agency and to government in general. He is often sought out for his advice and expertise and has presented to thousands of people across the United States on a wide variety of leadership topics. He was honored to speak on organizational complacency at the management retreat for Kennedy Space Center and to Congress on prevention programs for at-risk children. People often seek out his expertise regarding best practices in jail management and leadership, topics he has spoken and written about numerous times.
Sheriff Raney tries to be both educated and an educator. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree, and later a Master’s Degree with a 4.0 GPA, from Boise State University. He also graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff & Command, the FBI National Academy and the National Executive Institute – a prestigious international law enforcement leadership consortium. Sheriff Raney is currently an adjunct professor for Boise State University and Northwestern University’s Center for Public Safety.
Sheriff Raney is very active in the community and sits on the Board of Directors for several local and regional organizations, including the Ada County Drug and Mental Health Court and the Intermountain West Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory. He just completed a two-year term as Board Chair for the United Way of Treasure Valley and is the president of the Idaho Sheriffs’ Association. Sheriff Raney was also appointed by the Governor to both the Idaho Peace Officers Standards & Training Council and the Idaho Criminal Justice Commission to help set state policy on important criminal justice issues. In 2010, the United States Attorney General appointed Sheriff Raney to the Advisory Board of the National Institute of Corrections, where he helps provide a nationwide vision for jails and prisons. He is one of only two sheriffs in the nation to sit on that board.
In his free time, Gary enjoys spending time with his wife in the mountains, riding his touring motorcycle or practicing hobby photography.

Darby Heidemann, Wealth Management Advisor
Darby Heidemann is currently a Wealth Management Advisor for The Bailey Financial Group, covering all of Southern Idaho. He began his career as a college intern in 1990 and upon completion of his undergraduate education at Boise State in 1991, Darby decided to pursue his MBA at the University of Southern California. After receiving his MBA in 1996, he moved to New York, serving as the Vice President of Institutional Equity Sales for Credit Suisse. In January 2002, Darby returned to California as the Senior Vice President for Institutional Equity Sales for Prudential Equity Group. Since 2007, Darby has acted as an investment specialists for The Bailey Financial Group and serves on many leadership committees within the agency. He is additionally a key leader in training and development for new representatives in the business.
Darby enjoys snow skiing, motorcycling and traveling with his family. He is actively involved in the Boise community and coaches his children’s basketball teams. Darby and wife, Amy, have three children, Nicholas, Natalie and Gavin.

Lance Fenton graduated from Boise State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 2003. As a student, he was an active participant in Beta Alpha Psi, a nationally recognized accounting fraternity.
Lance joined Cooper Norman in 2004 and originally worked in the Twin Falls office. In 2008, he was asked to relocate to the Boise office. Dale Austin, District Manager, Boise Metro Idaho Region
Dale Austin is a Vice President and District Manager for Wells Fargo Community Banking. He is responsible for 14 stores, comprising the Boise Metro district.
A 16 year veteran of Wells Fargo, Austin has served in a number of positions, which include district manager of the Concho-Permian market based in Midland, Texas, as well as store manager roles in California and Arizona.
The Boise Metro District was created on April 1, 2013. Austin took over leadership of the district on July 16. Austin holds a certificate in banking and finance from National University and has served on boards for the MS Society and literacy programs such as Midland Need to Read.

He served as the Idaho Finance Chairman and on the National Finance Committee for the 2012 Romney for President campaign, contributing to the most successful Republican Presidential fundraising effort in history. Mr. Hawkes currently serves as a Board Member for Klowd.com, the Boise State Athletic Association, Riverwood Strategies, and on a State oversight board as twice appointed by the Governor of Idaho. Mr. Hawkes earned his BBA in Business Management at the Boise State University College of Business and Economics.
Joel Hickman, Community Regional President at U.S. Bank. Mr. Hickman is responsible for Wealth Management, Commercial, Consumer, and Business Banking services at U.S. Bank serving Western Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Prior to joining U.S. Bank in February of 2013, he was with Key Bank for over 25 years, the last 9 as President of the Idaho District. Joel earned his degree in Business Administration (BBA), Marketing from Boise State University in 1979. He is also a 1993 Graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Joel is currently a board member on the College of Western Idaho (CWI) Foundation and holds the position of Chair of the Development Committee. He also serves on the Board of the Boise State Athletic Association, Boise Public School Foundation and the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.
