Exam Software Update
COBE Computer Placement Exam Software Update Scheduled to Happen Soon.
The COBE Computer Placement Exam will continue to use the Microsoft 2010 software version at least through the Spring 2014 semester. We will update the website as soon as we know when the exam software version will change to Microsoft 2013.
The ITM104,5,6 CLASSES will begin using Microsoft 2013 in Spring 2014.
We have been notified that all MyITLab licenses are now good for 14 days after the license is used to enter your student profile. Please be aware of the license duration as you plan the dates you will take your first exam attempt and if you need to use your 2nd attempt you will need to plan for a date within the 14 day license duration.
The COBE Computer Placement Exams administered on the BSU campus are on a walk-in basis during the specific hours listed in the Schedule of Exam Times. Depending on the semester and date the exam is offered at different BSU campus lab locations. See the Schedule of Exam Times for exact locations and times for the date you select.
No appointment time is required to take the exam, but the exam must be started during the scheduled exam times. Let the Computer Lab Monitor know you want to take the COBE Computer Placement Exam. Follow their instructions to begin the exam. Prior to the start of the exam the Lab Monitor will direct you to read and sign a copy of the exam written policies and instructions. After this is completed the Lab Monitor will enter the password to begin the exam.
All questions regarding exam policies must be directed to the IT-SCM Department, not Lab Monitors. The Lab Monitors have a card with the IT-SCM Department contact information.
Exams are given on a computer available basis. It is in your best interest not to wait until the last minute to take the exam –a computer may not be available for you, in addition, the lab may be noisy. The computer lab is very busy the last week of classes or the week before any semester. Avoiding these time periods will be to your benefit.
The exam is also administered at the CSI campus (Twin Falls). Since there are a number of computer-related placement exams given in the CSI Testing Center, be sure you double check to make certain the exam you take is in fact the COBE Computer Placement Exam for BSU’s ITM104, ITM105, and/or ITM106. More details about the CSI exam administration are available at http://www.csi.edu/ip/adc/testing/, on the left hand menu bar, click on Location and Hours.
