Mark A Buchanan, Professor of Law and International Business (B.A., St. Thomas; J.D., Nebraska; LL.M., Illinois) is a native of Minnesota and moved to Boise in 1996. He is a licensed attorney and maintained his own practice for several years in Minnesota. He was an Associate Professor at St. Cloud State University from 1978-1990. Prior to coming to Boise he was a tenured member of the Faculty of Law, University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia, for six years and has also lived and worked in The People's Republic of China, Thailand and British Columbia, Canada. He has twice been awarded overseas Fulbright Professorships. His primary teaching and research areas have been in International Trade and Investment Law and U.S. Commercial Law with complementary interests in China and Southeast Asia.
