Roy Glen (PhD, Case Western Reserve University)
Associate Professor of Management
A native of England, Dr. Glen began his career working in organizational development for Rolls Royce in Derby and Unilever in Cheshire. He has served on the faculty at the University of Illinois; Willamette University’s Graduate School of Management, and, most recently, at Boise State University. Dr. Glen specializes in strategic change, organizational learning and organizational design. He has run programs for companies such as Xerox, Hewlett-Packard, Heinz, J.R. Simplot Company and numerous state and federal agencies.

Patrick W. Shannon (PhD, University of Oregon)
Professor of Operations Management
In addition to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels at Boise State University’s College of Business and Economics since 1974, Dr. Shannon has lectured and consulted in the areas of business statistics, quality management, lean manufacturing, project management, and quality improvement for over twenty five years. Listed among his consulting clients are Boise Cascade Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, PowerBar, Inc., Potlatch Corporation, Woodgrain Millwork Inc., J.R. Simplot Company, Washington Group International, Boise City, St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center, Zilog Corporation, Idaho Transportation Department, Idaho Tax Commission, Idaho Department of Environmental Quality and numerous other public and private sector organizations. Dr. Shannon has co-authored eleven university level textbooks and has published numerous articles in such journals as Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education, Business Horizons, Transportation Research Record, Interfaces, Journal of Simulation, Journal of Production and Inventory Control and Quality Management Journal.
Decision-Making Methods to Minimize Business Risk
Phillip Fry (PhD, Louisiana State University )
Professor of Operations Management
Dr. Fry specializes in utilizing Excel spreadsheet modeling to forecast growth and minimize the risk of business decision-making. Since 1988 he has taught MBA and undergraduate courses in the Boise State Business School . In addition to business decision-making, his research and teaching interests include operations management, business statistics, demand forecasting, supply chain inventory management, and supply chain transportation issues. Dr. Fry provides seminars and consulting for numerous companies, among them Boise Cascade Corporation, Hewlett-Packard. J. R. Simplot Company, United Water of Idaho, Woodgrain Millwork, Idaho Power, Boise City , and Micron Electronics. He has co-authored university level text books and his research has appeared in the European Journal of Research, the Decision Science Journal of Innovative Education, and the Production and Inventory Management Journal.
Entrepreneurship
John C. McIntosh (PhD, University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign)
Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy
Dr. McIntosh teaches new venture creation, eBusiness entrepreneurship, and business strategy in the MBA and undergraduate business programs at Boise State University . His research and entrepreneurship interests are currently focused on nanotechnology and commercialization of emerging technologies. Dr. McIntosh began his career in corporate banking at The Bank of New York. He has consulted to large organizations such as Terra Lycos, Staples, and Teradyne. He has also been involved in either the founding or growth of a variety of organizations including Photorazzi.com (digital image licensing), Synestesi Technologies (eCommerce solutions for SMEs), Thing Q (digital rights management), Stapplets.com (corporate travel services administration), Gem State Nanotubes (single-walled carbon nanotubes), and Integrated Nanosciences (technology development and commercialization in the nanotechnology space). Dr. McIntosh has published research articles in the Journal of Managerial Issues, the International Journal of Mobile Communications, and the Journal of Global Information Technology Management.
Finance and Accounting
Paul Bahnson (PhD, University of Utah)
Dr. Bahnson is Chairman and Professor in the Department of Accountancy at Boise State University . He is a licensed CPA with over 20 years of teaching experience including graduate, working professionals, and undergraduate courses in financial accounting and financial statement analysis. Dr. Bahnson’s professional experience includes public accounting with Deloitte and Touche and substantial consulting for firms such as Wellington Management, Credit Suisse/First Boston, Alliance Capital Management and Ziff Brothers. This consulting involves accounting analysis of public corporate filings. He has taught numerous seminars for Western CPE , a leading provider of continuing education for CPA’s and other companies. Along with Dr. Paul Miller he writes a bi-weekly feature column called the “Spirit of Accounting,” for Accounting Today that discusses controversial technical and ethical issues facing the profession. Dr. Bahnson’s writing, which is dedicated to exposing limitations in corporate financial reporting practices, includes numerous articles published in professional and academic journals.
Harry White (PhD, Texas A&M University)
Professor of Finance
Originally trained as an economist, Dr. White has become an expert in the field of corporate finance. His specializations are in financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting, determining ROI for projects, and optimizing capital structures. A regular teaching award winner, Dr. White has run programs for numerous local companies including Albertson’s, Micron PC (now MPC), MCMS, MotivePower, and the J.R. Simplot Company. His research has been published extensively, including articles in Financial Management, the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, and the Journal of Multinational Financial Management.
International Business
Kent E. Neupert (PhD, University of Western Ontario)
Professor of International Business
Dr. Neupert teaches international business, business strategy, and entrepreneurship in the Boise State MBA and undergraduate business programs. Since 2000, he has also served as Research Director of the Global Business Consortium, a partnership between Boise State ’s College of Business and Economics, the Idaho Department of Commerce and the Boise Metro Economic Development Council. Before earning his Ph. D. in 1994, he spent many years working in his family's construction materials business. Additionally, Dr. Neupert has a broad understanding of international business. He lived in Hong Kong for several years and has provided business strategy consulting for both domestic and Chinese companies such as Toppan Forms (Hong Kong), Manulife (Hong Kong), and CAI ( Boise ). His local entrepreneurship efforts have helped launch a number of Boise companies including Banshee Riverboards, TVTM Talent, Havix, and Automotive Universe. Dr. Neupert's research publications include an entrepreneurship casebook in Chinese, and English-language articles in the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of Business Research and other international journals.

Shikhar Sarin (PhD, University of Texas)
Professor of Marketing
A native of India, Dr. Sarin's first degree was in electrical engineering from Bangalore University. Subsequently, he gained his Master's of Electrical Engineering while concurrently earning a PhD in Marketing. Building on that technical foundation, Dr.Sarin specializes in the development of marketing strategies in high-tech industries. He has run programs for many firms including AOL, General Electric, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Lucent, Micron Technology, Schlumberger, Sprint, 3M, Ubiquitel, and United Technologies. Kirk Smith (PhD, University of Houston)
Associate Dean for Business Graduate Studies and Executive
Education
Dr. Kirk Smith holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Colorado State University. He earned his Ph.D. in marketing from The University of Houston. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Smith’s decade-long work career centered on the successful turnaround to profitability for two companies. He specializes in marketing strategy, professional selling, and sales management and has consulted for numerous companies in town including Extended Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Stellar Dynamics, and WRC Advertising. He has won teaching awards at both the University of Houston and Boise State University. Dr. Smith has published research in the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Industrial Marketing Management, and the Journal of Marketing for Higher Education.
