Graduate Assistantships Available in Technology Transfer and Innovation

Office of Technology Transfer, College of Engineering and College of Business & Economics Employment and Internship Opportunities Available for Fall Semester 2011

Two Graduate Assistantships Available – 20 hours per week, full tuition waiver and monthly stipend

Looking for Graduate Students in Engineering, Sciences or Business who want to learn about intellectual property, technology development, market analysis, business formation and entrepreneurship. Graduate Assistants work independently and as a team member of the Innovation Team.

The Graduate Assistants on the Innovation Team will work closely with faculty members on technology development, market analysis, commercialization feasibility and intellectual property issues. The Graduate Assistant will also work directly with faculty inventors on their innovations by providing support on technology transfer and commercialization.

The Innovation Team is facilitated by the University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and the Office of Technology Transfer (http://www.boisestate.edu/research/tech/)

Industry experience or interest in technology development and commercialization, product development, market development, etc is helpful but not required. Academic training in engineering, sciences or business is helpful.

The duration of this Graduate Assistantship may be two semesters or four.

Looking for Graduate Student in Engineering to work for Office of Technology Transfer Fellow. The faculty Fellow is responsible for implementing applied research projects from industry and identifying and developing technologies discovered in Boise State laboratories. This position will work directly with dynamic and productive faculty on their innovations. This position will have the opportunity to learn about intellectual property, technology development, and business formation and entrepreneurship. The Graduate Assistant would be involved in all Fellow activities primarily in the College of Engineering and College of Arts and Sciences.

The duration of this Graduate Assistantship may be one semester or two.

Boise State Partners with UI on Taxation, Law Degrees

Boise State’s College of Business and Economics has partnered with the University of Idaho College of Law to allow students to simultaneously earn a master of science in accountancy/taxation emphasis and a law degree.

The new JD/MSAT agreement allows students to earn both a juris doctorate and the accountancy degree in as few as three years, rather than the four years it would typically take. (more…)

Boise State Business Plan Team Receives Awards at Top International Entrepreneurship Competition

R2EV, Boise State University’s business plan team, finished strong in a competitive field of 20 international universities at the New Venture Championship hosted the University of Oregon’s Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship. Boise State’s R2EV team took 2nd Place overall for the “best elevator pitch” and Division Winner for the “best presentation” on Saturday April 10. (more…)

Elevator Pitch Competition and Business Plan Competition Results

Congratulations to the winners of the Elevator Pitch Competition and Business Plan Competition held today! The competitions, organized by the Center for Entrepreneurship as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, were open to all Boise State University students. Awards were $250 for First Place, $100 for Second, and $50 for Third in the Undergraduate and Graduate divisions of both competitions.

Business Plan Challenge

Teams have 15 minutes for presentation of business plan, up to 20 minutes for Q&A.

Extended Deadline: Written business plans due by Friday November 13, 2009.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for undergraduate and graduate teams

This competition is open to all Boise State University Students.
