Elevator Pitch Competition at Entrepreneurship Day in Idaho

When: Thursday April 14, 2010; 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Location: Simplot Room B, Student Union Building, Boise State University

Description

Do you have an idea for a new product, service or business concept?  Do you want a chance to pitch your idea to entrepreneurs, investors and people who can help you make it happen?  Do you want to win money for your idea?  If so, the Boise State Elevator Pitch is for you!

In the Elevator Pitch Competition, you have two (2) minutes to present your idea for a new product, service or business concept. Your message should include: What is the problem? How do you solve it? What do you need to make it happen?

Each entry will have 2 minutes for their pitch and 2 minutes for questions from the judges.

Rules for Participation

The Elevator Pitch Competition is open to all Boise State University students, subject to space availability and registration.  A limited number of spaces are available and will be allocated on a “first come – first served” basis.  To register, send your name(s), student status (i.e. undergraduate, graduate, college and major), contact information and a one (1) page description of your idea for a new product, service or business to Dr. Kent Neupert at kneupert@boisestate.edu by 6:00 pm Tuesday April 12, 2011.  Early registration is strongly recommended to ensure participation as space will be allocated as entry registrations are received.

Awards and Judging Criteria

1st Prize will be $150, 2nd Prize will be $100, and 3rd Prize will be $50.  To determine the winners, each participant will be assessed on the following criteria: (1) innovativeness, (2) potential commercial impact and (3) communication effectiveness.  Winners will be chosen from the participants in the Elevator Pitch Competition.
