First year EMBAs Kayce McEwan, Jay Ford and John Kumm discuss how to use the Hambrick Model and “Scanning the Periphery” to gain competitive advantage for their organizations. Participants frequently have breakout meetings designed to tie teachings from the classroom back to their work place. These type of sessions help participants put lessons learned over the weekend into use on Monday.

Creating Competitive Advantage
Execs Kick-Off Capstone Projects
January marked the start of the Capstone Project phase for the second year class of the Executive MBA Program. Four study teams, who graduate this May, will work with four local organizations on high level, strategic, real world problems the sponsoring organization is currently facing. Each team will have a faculty advisor and corporate mentors from within the organization working with them throughout this final portion of the program. Sponsoring organizations include Idaho Food Bank, JR Simplot Company, Motive Power, and Power Engineers.
