Economics graduate George Fenton was the student speaker at the Spring 2012 Commencement Ceremony (the largest ever for the University). Economics Student Accepted into the Agricultural Economics Masters Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Boise State University Economics graduate, Jon Sims, has been accepted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Agricultural Economics for his M.S. Degree. He has also been offered a full assistantship and fellowship that will allow him to complete research projects with the faculty in that department during his time there.

Dr. Kelly Cobourn made a presentation on climate change and climate change research at Boise State to the Idaho Senate Agriculture Committee on March 15. Her co-presenters were Jen Pierce, associate professor of geosciences, and Elizabeth Aldrich, assistant professor of public policy and administration.

Dr. Kelly Cobourn has been invited to speak at the 3rd Annual Tri-State Western Consortium Meeting for the NSF EPSCoR Programs in Idaho, Nevada, and New Mexico. Her presentation will be on “Economics of Water and Land Use”.

Dr. Kelly Cobourn was part of an innovative working group held at the McCall Outdoor Science School Feb. 5-7. The group included interdisciplinary researchers from across the West who convened to discuss “Thresholds of Ecosystem Resilience.” Cobourn contributed by identifying economic indicators of thresholds in ecosystems that support agricultural production.
