The College of Business and Economics speaker series will present a free talk with economics expert G. Alex Sinclair at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the Student Union Simplot B Ballroom.
Sinclair will present, “Is the U.S. Economy Broken? What Needs to Be Done to Fix It?”
Sinclair has been tapped as an economics expert by a number of Washington policymakers. Originally from Twin Falls, he began his career with the accounting firm Price Waterhouse & Co. before moving into the commodities and currency trading business as a member of both the New York Mercantile Exchange and the Pacific Stock Exchange.
The software he developed to run his commodities business is now used by major firms such as Cargill and ADM to run their commodities divisions. He served as president of Sinclair & Co., which continues as a full service commodity futures and options trading firm.
