‘Lessons from Alumni’ Event Connects Students and Alums

The College of Business and Economics hosted its third annual Lessons from Alumni events Oct. 14-16. More than 200 business and community leaders and students attended the kick-off breakfast in the Student Union Jordan Ballroom. Featured speakers included Deborah Westmoreland, Wells Fargo Banking president; Kevin Rigenhagen, managing partner at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network; and Deanna Watson, executive director of Boise City/Ada County Housing. An hour of networking with companies followed, during which many students received offers for interviews.

Forty-seven Boise State alumni shared their career stories with students over the three-day event and answered students’ career development questions.

“Students said it was the chance to learn first-hand from company officers and business leaders who made an incredible impression on them in developing their own career stories,” said event coordinator Carlene Hansen.
