The Department of Accountancy, along with various local businesses, awards over $40,000 in scholarships to accounting majors every year. To be eligible for these scholarships you must complete the Department of Accountancy’s scholarship application form. This form is separate from the College of Business and Economics scholarships which are available to all business majors, and must be applied for via BroncoWeb.
Who May Apply:
- All graduate and undergraduate accounting majors who expect to carry 8 or more credit hours for the following semester
- Preference given to students who will be juniors or seniors for the coming school year and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Majors who do not meet these criteria are asked to explain in their application why they should be given special consideration.
- Some of the scholarships have specific requirements. For example, Boise Cascade offers a scholarship for a minority student and the Association of Government Accountants gives preference to members or the immediate family of members of that organization.
- Some scholarships are awarded based on financial need. Applicants interested in need-based scholarships must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Fill out the Accountancy Scholarship Form [PDF]. Applications for the Department of Accountancy scholarships must be received by the department secretary on or before February 16 for new students and March 15 for continuing students.
